QEI collaborated with the City of Chicago and International Gate Control (IGC) on Chicago O’Hare International Airport’s Terminal 5 East Concourse Extension. The $1 billion expansion and renovation of Terminal 5 included the addition of 10 new gates, an 85% increase in passenger amenity space, and the renovation of over 750,000 square feet of the existing building. Our consultants have collaborated with the City of Chicago Department of Aviation and International Gate Control (IGC) to develop a strategic expansion plan that accommodates growing passenger demands, enhances immigration and customs facilities, and provides an elevated experience for international travelers. The expansion is a significant milestone that allows the new jet bridge at Gate M29 to accommodate the spacious Airbus A380. This makes Gate M29, the second gate at Terminal 5, capable of serving the A380.
