Traffic Studies

Comprehensive Experience & Expertise

At Quigg Engineering Inc., our team of traffic engineering professionals consists of licensed Professional Engineers (PE) and Professional Traffic Operations Engineers (PTOE) who bring extensive expertise beyond traditional engineering methodologies. Our collective experience encompasses the integration of cutting-edge technologies and the formulation of innovative strategies aimed at enhancing safety and optimizing traffic flow.

We offer a comprehensive suite of services, spanning from meticulous traffic data collection to in-depth traffic operations analysis and advanced modeling, including Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) planning and design.

Equipped with proficiency in a diverse array of software applications, our engineers adeptly utilize tools such as the Highway Capacity Software (HCS), Synchro/SimTraffic, and the Interactive Highway Safety Design Model (IHSDM) to deliver precise and effective solutions tailored to our clients’ needs.

Focused on Safety

Whether we are making recommendations to reduce crashes at an intersection or developing a Concept of Operations for an Active Traffic Management System, we never forget our most important task is helping our clients ensure the safety of the public. Our engineers have predicted the number of crashes that would be expected for design alternatives using the Highway Safety Manual (HSM) and IHSDM; evaluated traffic control devices in work zones; conducted safety evaluations of red-light and speed cameras; and conducted Road Safety Audits to address fatal and severe-injury crashes. Two of our engineers have Road Safety Professional (RSP) Certification.

Witness the Future of Traffic Studies

The future of traffic engineering will continue to involve looking for ways to use technology to make it safer and more accessible for people and goods to get where they need to be. That may involve Connected Vehicles that can communicate with the infrastructure and each other, fully Autonomous Vehicles that drive themselves, or technologies that we can’t imagine yet. QEI has engineers who have been involved with developing these technologies from the very early stages and look forward to continuing to have a role in envisioning the future.
