QEI completed an Intersection Design Study (IDS) for reconstructing the three-leg intersection of Skyline Drive and Crenshaw Road using a roundabout configuration. The study included preparing Fastest Path and Phi Angle diagrams to confirm safe design speeds based on the proposed geometry, as well as reviewing and refining the preliminary layout. Sight Distance diagrams were developed to verify adequate visibility throughout the intersection. Turning movement analyses were also performed for a WB-65 design vehicle, incorporating the use of the truck apron where needed. The design was adjusted as necessary to ensure full compliance with IDOT policy.
