QEI completed a topographic survey of Botany Pond, located adjacent to the Zoology Building and Erman Biology Center on the University of Chicago campus, to support the design.

As part of the ecological scope, QEI assisted in developing procedures for the removal and preservation of existing wildlife, including both flora and fauna, in coordination with project planners and stakeholders. This work included preparing restoration and planting plans for the pond’s emergent and aquatic zones, selecting appropriate replacement plant and animal species, and refining planting locations to support long-term ecological health.
